Allied Irish Bank
Allied Irish Bank’s general manager recognized the need to prepare
his managers for the future. He knew that the bank needed a real
customer focus and re-defined objectives so he asked IMCA to develop
custom-made action learning courses that would focus on the organization
and its market place. The bank aimed to address a wide range of issues
in the courses at different levels, covering key areas such as:
- Teamwork, marketing skills and business planning for managers;
- Formulation of group plans by the heads of business units;
- Customer service and cross-selling skills for branch staff;
- An action learning MBA for selected managers.
Among other things, these courses addressed the needs of small business
customers, product development, customer service and the strategic
challenge of maximizing the returns on central services.
